How does receiving un-employment work?
That largely depends on what state and county you are in. Check online for your EDD office, see if you can file online. In California you can file a claim online.
You will be asked a series of questions and dates, place of work, why your no longer working. They will send you all the paparwork through the mail, unemployment work search record, what your weekly award will be, a telephone interview date and so forth. Your claim will end exactly a year later from the date you file it. There is a waiting period etc.

Quitting is a voluntary choice made by you to be unemployed. In making that choice, you absolve the company you work for from having to pay you the unemployment out of their unemployment insurance.
You get unemployment from getting laid off or fired. The only way on those is if you are fired for job performance. Then you may not get it, and if you file, your former employer can fight you getting it. If they win, you don't get paid.
I would advise you to either find another job before you quit, or figure something else out, because if you quit, you will be without income.
You do also realize that you only get about 30 - 40 % of your previous income, right? You will not make what you were making while employed. That is how they get people out of the cycle, and back into work. And you can only collect for 26 out of the 52 weeks per year. So you will not be able to just sit on unemployment forever.
Reply:well u have to either be fired ( for a reason other than you doing something to make them fire you, like stealling, horseplay, etc.) or laid off. then you have to go to the unemployment office and fill out an app which list all your jobs from like a year and a half. Don't lie cause they know. OK from that they calculate your wages and btw u have to have good cause to leave your other jobs u listed such as to work a better job. after that they make u wait two weeks to receive a check if you get an approval letter. In the meantime you must fill out the claim cards they send you and send them back(some do it by phone depending on your state) because the checks are a week behind and in case you are denied and appeal you get back pay if u win the case. Reply:look in the phone book under state government. there will be a phone number or address for the office . if you quit you may be pentalized for a period or unable to collect at all. if you are good with employer ask for a layoff

Go directly to the big tour companies. You'll have a tough time finding a recruitment agency specific to the travel industry because they simply don't exist!
For group tours I would suggest writing to Kuoni, Voyages Jules Verne, Thompson and Virgin.

jobs such as in following depts: athletic, admissions, development, recruiting, publications, human resources, etc. I would be interested in most jobs at the college level. I have a BS in business and MA in education.

If you're looking for a general-purpose kind of position like HR or PR, this is not an academic position and you can probably apply for those directly. But things like admissions, recruiting, and administration will require some showing of a desire to be a part of the academy as such. This could be done by spending some time in a support position at a university, or by getting a masters in higher education administration.
But as you already have an MA, you're probably looking to get a job, not another degree.
I wouldn't probably waste too much time on the athletics positions. If you really wanted to do that, you'd already know whether or not you're qualified and how to get those jobs. The people who are eligible already know who they are.

Apart from Paris , Rhone Alpes and South what are the best areas in France for employment opportunities ?
Im relocating to France and would ideally like to live within commutable distance of an area that has good employment opportunities in the Manufacturing and Services sectors . I cannot afford to live in the pricey South , Paris , Alsace or Rhone Alpes areas I have drawn up a short list of Le Mans , Bordeaux , Nantes , Poitiers but Im really not too sure . Is Brittany any good or is it just tourism and farming ? . Any suggestions in any region of France is much appreciated .

In general, the south of France is poor for job prospects,unless you are after clerk posts or manual posts. There are of course other posts but they arenot in great supply. Also the pace of life is very different there so make sure that you go somewhere which fits you culturally too. The south of France can be quite drab out side the obvious sunny seasons.
The problem is that we are not too sure what job you are trying to get into. You might be able to get a good job in a small remote town. All you need is one job.
