Can I apply for a social security number if i got my employment authorization notice of approval?

I still haven't received my employment authorization card yet. but it's on its way. I just got the notice of approval.

I think that nobody can answer this question better than your local social security office. Just go to : www.ssa.gov and locate an office in your area, give them a call or go by and ask.

Reply:Contact your local Embassy, if your German, contact the German Embassy, or Mexican contact your Mexican Embassy. They know all the laws about entering the country and the laws. Just pick up your phone dial your information number, here in California its "411" and ask for the number to which ever Embassy you need. Get the number and call. These people are here to help you. Reply:You actually have to go to the immigration office, and they'll send you to another office that will check your approval, and valid identification (your passport) then they will issue you a card that will come in the mail. Part of getting a work authorization card is having to go to the immigration office and having your picture and finger prints taken that are put on a film affixed to the card.
Reply:No , you can't get now. They usually ask you for ID in this case the employment authorization card.
