How does the fcra effect employment?
I am going to be a preschool teacher, and they had me sign a paper so that the FCRA can check my credit and such?
How does the fcra effect employment?
FCRA is Fair Credit Reporting Act. They're most likely using one of the credit agencies and asking for a PEER (pre-employment evaluation) report.
Employers can pull a credit report on potential hires. It supposedly relates to responsibility, i.e. responsibly handles personal finances = responsible employee. (I'm not convinced, personally). The report an employer gets does NOT include any account numbers nor does it impact your credit score. I've never heard of someone being accepted or denied a job, however, based solely on their PEER report, but I suppose it's possible.
Reply:who is FCRA and who wants to
check you out?
that is not a US based org that I know of.
no one has the right to check your
credit.
