I can not for the life of me remember the exact dates for which I started and finished working for any of my employers. I know that there are Government Organizations that keep track of this information. Is there a website out there that will allow me to view my own employment history without a fee?
Why isn't there a Government run website which allows someone to view their Employment History?
So when do we draw a line between when the government has to keep constant track of our lives and personal responsibility? First people complain that the government is too involved with our lives, but then we complain when it's something that we need is not available to us? There is such a thing as a resume and keeping that on file with all of your history.
Reply:Primarily because the government doesn't have, nor should it have, the EXACT dates you worked at any given job. At most, they would have the quarter you started and ended the job. If it were up to me, they would have NO IDEA who I worked for or when.
Reply:Because it would get abused by people who only want to steal identity. If they have to pay for the information and show up in person insures more security of your private information , regardless of the actions you must take to obtain such information, go to your local SS office.
Reply:The "Government" does NOT keep employment histories on everyone. Where did you get that idea? Keeping track of your personal history is your business.
Reply:I'm certain I don't need another organization keeping track of my history. There are more than enough already.
I know where I worked and when.

Reply:I hope this is not a UK question and a suggestion that there should be an English website where people can check their or (any one else's ) employment history.
Reply:Contact Social Security, they are the ones who have ALL of your legit history.
Reply:that would be a HUGE waste of public money.
Keep your own employment records
