Well manufacturing sectors and service sectors are quite different in the way they work. Eg : Quality control is ensuring minimum defective products are produced in a manufacturing sector and in a service sector its how bug-free a product is. There are various things to consider in a manufacturing sector like inventory control, process control, queing which are not used in a service sector. The main things that matter in a service sector is resource planning and software delivery timing. So in a generic way both have the same business plan (i.e the flow of events) but they're are many different intricacies that have to be taken care of.
