Is there a source of employment oppurtunities for convicted felons that are looking for work?

That's a tough one.

I've thought of that, and is one of the reasons I'm scared to death to break the law, so I don't!

Anyway, I think the construction trade is probably the most forgiving about this.

Other than that, I think getting a degree, or a certificate in some training program goes a long way to showing prospective employers that you have turned around and are really serious about becoming a contributing member of society.

And how you look and behave in job interviews is of course of profound importance.

That, I think is what has the biggest impact on them making a judgment on whether what you did was a temporary mistake you made, or a way of life for you.

It may not sound fair, but people tend to use stereotypes as a means of efficiency; they don't have the time or resources to check people out and "be fair" about it.

Good luck.

Reply:I was just talking to someone the other day about this same thing. Maybe ask your parole officer is he or she can offer some assistance? Also, check around the malls or other shopping places. Also, check with your local W-2 or Human Services place somebody should give you some help. Good luck dear, I hope you find something, although, I've been out of work with 6 months (not a felon) and I haven't found anything yet.
