What kind of employment can someone convicted of a felony get?

My brother is a convicted felon and he is away at bootcamp now, but he wants to get a job when he get back in like a couple of months. What kinds of work can he get into. We live in Texas.

He should talk to his parole officer about what he's eligible for. Most likely he will not be able to get a job doing whatever it was he was convicted of violating (i.e., no banks if it was robbery, no child care if it was molestation, etc).
Reply:Is he in bootcamp for the military? If so you answered your question. If not then he can deliver pizzas.
Reply:A family memeber of mine has several felonies on his recored... he is working as a sub contractor for a Construction/Maintenance company. He has been working there for quite a few years. My suggestion is to tell your brother to prove himself no matter what he does.

Reply:waffle house don't laugh you can make decent money and they don't care about jail time or run random drug tests.
Reply:Any job you want as long as you tell the employer the truth. Do not lie about the felony, try to deny it or act as if your going to repeat it.
Reply:Depends on what kind of job qualifications they have and what kind of crime they committed. I have a guy working for me that was convicted of homicide, but I've never had anyone score higher on the applications exams we use. I had a secretary that tried to embezzle from the state, she'll never get another management or administrative job again - only as a contractor if no one does a background check.

If a potential employer asks, be honest. We do check.
