What are the employment laws regarding attendance and dock pay?

I live in South Carolina, and hav a boss who says that anyone who comes to work late will have their pay docked for teh entire day. Is this legal?

What are the employment laws regarding attendance and dock pay?
He cannot legally not pay you for time worked.
Reply:He can say "If you come in late go home and don't work today", and not pay you.

If you come to work late, he must still pay you for the hours you actually work.

Richard
Reply:No that is NOT Legal. The employer is allowed to dock for each 15min increment for which you were late. For example, work starts at 7:00 a.m. and you don't show up until 7:38 a.m. He doesn't have to start paying you until 7:45 a.m.

The employer may also "Point" you for lateness, were 3 points equals 1 day off without pay.

It is not legal to require that someone work without pay. Of course you do live in the South. Do they still practice slavery?
Reply:no turn him in to the state attorney office
