What is the best city in Texas to live in..employment and things to do wise?

I'm 18 going on 19 live in Pennsylvania %26amp; was looking towards moving to Texas but don't know which city to move to what I'm looking for:low cost of living, great employment opportunities, lots of things to do.

What is the best city in Texas to live in..employment and things to do wise?
The Austin area is the best. It is close to everything, and I mean everything. 6th Street in Austin is great fun for night life, Round Rock is a GREAT place to live. Older neighborhoods, nice, inexpensive houses to rent, great neighbors (I lived in Round Rock for 5 years). It is close enough to Austin but far enough away from the traffic. Close to a LOT of lakes and outdoor activites. Dell Computers is right there in Round Rock. There is PLENTY of work in the Austin area. Just go on line and check the want ads for the Austin area. North of Austin is best because south of Austin traffic sucks. Good luck!
Reply:It depends on what you like to do. I suggest the Rio Grande Valley. You are close to the gulf, can live on water cheaply, and there are lots of outdoor things to do. You used to be able to travel all over Mexico but now they are kidnapping anyone and everyone plus they have brought the Federales to the border and they will shoot without regard to who is in the way and may just aim at a few anglos. (That does sound racist but its true) You will have major culture shock when you move but once you get the hang of things, it's really laid back. You have South Padre Island to party at. If you're single and looking this isn't the place to party tho and a bigger city will offer much more in the way of clubs, museums, art, education and the usually things one should expect. I had to work to get a mail route in front of my house. But if you like to fish or like the water or like it hot all the time, this is the place. I run away to San Antonio to get lost and that's a pretty good place too but it freezes. . .
